Safaricom Limited (Safaricom) is engaged in the provision of mobile phone services. It provides products and services for telephony, general packet radio services (GPRS), third generation (3G), enhanced data GSM environment (EDGE), data and fax. Its Safaricom PrePay service includes international dialing, voice mail and prepays roaming. Messaging includes ways of communication, such as short message service (SMS), e-mail and multimedia. With messaging service, customer also get daily updates for news, sports and entertainment. Other products and services include Safaricom Shops and Safaricom Mail. In March 2007, the Company, in conjunction with Vodafone Group Services Limited, through Vodafone Marketing S.A.R.L., launched M-PESA. The Company has roaming agreements with Vodafone International Holdings B.V. affiliated companies in many countries.
